# Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is enabled for all tenants and merchants that have access to the N-Genius payment portal.
MFA is an additional security layer that ensures enhanced security, compliance with PCI DSS 4.0, and protection of sensitive payment data from unauthorized access.
MFA is implemented using two methods:
• Email-based one-time passwords (OTPs), and
• SMS-based OTPs
If you are an N-Genius user experiencing issues with MFA during login, follow the screenshots below for guidance:
1. **First, enter your login credentials on the login screen:**
2. **A code will automatically be sent to your registered email address after logging in. Enter this code on the screen below, and then click Submit. If you did not receive the code, click on the 'Resend code' button. **
3) **You may also click 'Try another method' to receive the code via SMS. The screen below will load once that button is clicked:**
4) **An OTP will be then sent to you via the preferred option (SMS or email). The subsequent screen will allow you to input this OTP for verification:**
4. ** Once you have entered the correct code and clicked on the 'Submit' button, you will be directed to the N-Genius Online landing page:**
